Землетруси

Землетруси is the Ukrainian term for “earthquakes.” An earthquake is a sudden and rapid shaking of the ground caused by the movement of tectonic plates beneath the Earth’s surface. This phenomenon can result from various geological processes, including volcanic activity, fault lines, or other disturbances in the Earth’s crust. Earthquakes are measured using a seismometer, and their intensity and impact can vary widely, resulting in anything from minor tremors that go unnoticed to severe quakes that can cause extensive damage to buildings, infrastructure, and can lead to loss of life. The study of earthquakes is known as seismology, and understanding their causes and effects is vital for disaster preparedness and risk mitigation in regions prone to seismic activity.
