Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by propelling a spherical ball into the opposing team’s goal, primarily using the feet, but players may also use other parts of their body except the arms and hands. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which dictate aspects such as the offside rule, fouls, and methods of play.

The term “football” can refer to several variations of the sport, including association football (commonly known as soccer in some countries), American football, and rugby football. However, in many parts of the world, football specifically refers to association football. The sport is one of the most popular globally, with millions of players and fans, and is governed internationally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) for association football. Football involves skill, strategy, teamwork, and athleticism, and it has significant cultural and social significance, often fostering community and national pride.
